Biography
After being on The Farm for a year and a half, the 2018 season will mark Tran’s first year as a full-time sports performance coach responsible for Wrestling, Women’s Gymnastics, and Track and Field. Tran came to Stanford in January of 2017 as volunteer intern where he worked with Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Golf, Men’s Tennis, and Synchronized Swimming. Tran then served as an an assistant sports performance coach responsible for Women’s Gymnastics and Squash while also assisting Men’s Basketball, Women’s Swimming, Softball, Women’s Tennis and Women’s Golf.
Prior to his time at Stanford, Tran served as a athletic performance intern at UCLA.
Tran graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University in 2016 and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sport and Leisure Studies that he earned in 2013 from The Ohio State University.
Tran is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting, and CPR & First Aid certified through the American Red Cross.
